Dr. Peter Harmer was the original chief medical officer for USA Fencing, providing a variety of services over three decades, pioneering the high-quality sports medicine programs of today’s fencing world. Peter developed the medical coverage program for national and international competitions, initiated USA Fencing’s injury surveillance system, wrote the American Fencing Magazine Sports Medicine column, was elected to and served on the FIE Medical Commission, and published research internationally on fencing injuries.
